Placing my son for adoption was the hardest decision I’ve ever made. It changed me — not just in the moment, but in every moment that followed.
In the early years after his placement, I was often asked to speak with other birth mothers and hopeful parents. I loved sharing my story. I even wrote a short essay for those who might be too nervous to ask what open adoption was really like — and that small piece of writing planted the seed for this book.
The Gravity of Grief & Joy is the story that grew from that seed. A memoir of love, surrender, and becoming.
It’s a journey of learning to dance between grief and joy — and discovering what it means to keep showing up, even when the story doesn’t turn out the way you once imagined.
